Kim Guadagno: State Budget Spends Too Much, NJ Gets Too Little
West Long Branch, NJ – Today, Kim Guadagno released a video statement on social media in response to the state budget passed by the legislature and signed by the governor.
"Unfortunately, the latest state budget doesn’t do enough to help the people of New Jersey," Kim Guadagno says in the video. "Instead of helping New Jersey climb out of its financial hole, the legislature’s budget only digs us in deeper. It spends too much, and the people of New Jersey get too little."
Kim Guadagno has publicly urged the governor and legislature to pass a state budget that puts taxpayers first and delivers meaningful property tax relief for New Jersey families.

When I travel the state of New Jersey, people want to know, will I be able to afford to stay here?
Unfortunately, the latest state budget doesn’t do enough to help the people of New Jersey, especially those families who will sit around their table tonight, and have to decide whether or not they need to leave New Jersey because they simply can’t afford it here anymore.
Instead of helping New Jersey climb out of its financial hole, the legislature’s budget only digs us in deeper. It spends too much, and the people of New Jersey get too little.
While it makes some changes to the school funding formula, it fails to provide meaningful property tax relief for the middle class. And while commuters face lengthy delays in getting to work, this budget fails to audit state government operations, to ensure we’re spending our money effectively to improve the quality of life for all New Jerseyans.
Like you, I want my kids to be able to afford to live here so I can raise my grandchildren here. Instead of kicking the can down the road, we need to step up our efforts to help all of our families. That’s why I’ve pledged to lower property taxes during my first term, or I will not run for a second.
In his quest to buy the governor's office, Phil Murphy has promised everything to everyone. From imposing universal government run healthcare, to starting a wacky state bank, Phil Murphy will bankrupt this state, raise taxes on everyone, and send our families fleeing. Even Democrats have warned Phil Murphy would be worse than Jon Corzine.
While the Trenton politicians and Phil Murphy fight to help special interests, the choice for our next governor couldn’t be more clear. We can do better, and together, we will.
