Kim Guadagno Crushes High Tax Jack Ciattarelli In Final Debate
Kim Guadagno and her vision for a better, more affordable New Jersey won the final GOP gubernatorial primary debate on NJTV against High Tax Jack Ciattarelli.
“It’s clear from tonight’s debate that Kim Guadagno is the only candidate from either party who will lower property taxes,” said Warren County GOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt. “She has the right background and experience to win against the tax and spend Democrats, and has demonstrated she has the right priorities to make New Jersey better for everyone as governor.”
The latest Quinnapiac poll shows Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno with a 2:1 lead over Jack Ciattarelli, and she has a strong 4:1 approval rating among Republicans. However, the legislature has greater than a 3:1 disapproval rating among Republicans.
Guadagno also leads in fundraising and key endorsements. As of May 5, Kim Guadagno had $1.5 million cash-on-hand compared to less than $500,000 for High Tax Jack Ciattarelli. Guadagno has earned the official Republican Party line or slogan in 14 counties which have 70% of the Republican vote, including the 4 biggest Republican counties in the state: Atlantic, Bergen, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hudson, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Salem, Sussex and Warren counties. Guadagno also earned a major endorsement from Joe Piscopo, who was splitting the general election field and polling at 14% as an independent before he decided not to run for governor this year.
This week, Guadagno launched a new TV ad, "High Tax Jack," contrasting Kim Guadagno's plan to lower taxes for New Jerseyans if elected with Jack Ciattarelli's record and promise to raise taxes. Click here to watch the ad.
